Windows 7 RTM Available to all MSDN Subscribers
-
Anyone want to donate money for me to get a MSDN/TechNet Subscription? Eh didn't think so.
=S I heard somewhere that those 'MSDN/TechNet Product Keys' do not work if you lose/cancel your subscription, is that true? I mean like if I have a subscription, and used the keys I could get with it to activate W7, would it deactivate it if I lost the subscription?
No...the keys you get are Retail keys. They do not expire at all.

Hmm now that is tempting then. Means I could install W7 on multiple machines for just the price of like.. 1?

Technically the keys don't expire and Windows won't de-activate...however you would be in violation of the license agreement and would be "evaluating" products for which you are no longer allowed to "evaluate" if your subscription were to lapse. Just saying.
And technically the licenses are for "eval" purposes. An "eval" is not installing the OS on multiple computers and then using them for all of your computer needs over the next few years. An eval copy is more like,
1). Some piece of software is not working on Windows 7
2). Install Win7 into virtual machine software
3). Try to install said piece of software.
4). experiment until it works
5). Delete the virtual machine.

Just curious - i'm a member of MSDN through my school (RIT). Will I be able to receive a copy of Win 7? (We were given the Beta and RC1)
RIT - NSSA

Which build number will be available? 7600.16385? or 7600.16399? or 7600.16400?

I can't say for sure but a guy told me that there are for life...even after you cancel the subscription
Unless MS decides the system is overly abused and changes their mind.
