He said that the only reason that he would step down a CEO from Apple is on if he had 3 months to live. He kept he promise. You will be missed and no one will push hardware makers like you did.

He was a man 50 years ahead of his time. The things that he was pushing for in the early 90's are only coming of age now.

I guess it was best that he wasn't at the helm when he died, as I think that would have made an even stronger (and not necessarily 'good') impact on the technology world.

At the time of hearing it I tweeted ":O just turned my PC monitor on with live.twit.tv on it. I see "Apple Confirms Steve Jobs' Death, 1955-2011" RIP :'(". I'm in England (and English), so it's currently 4:30AM. I've been up all night following Twitter and the TWiT network's coverage of it.

Sad, sudden, but not at all unexpected. He'd had health troubles (pancreatic cancer) for a number of years now, although he did have a couple of years or so remission from the illness. His most recent appearances just before he died showed him to be very gaunt, thin, and weak - in short, he looked an old man, much older than his years. His mind, however, remained sharp to the end.

RIP Steve Jobs... You were truly an innovator and a keen player in the computing industry.

Steve Jobs was a true visionary in the computing world!

He was one of the person who brought personal computing to the reach of common man in 80's.

He also brought great consumer products like i(nnovative)Pod, i(conic)Phone, i(mpressive)Pad, from a largely high tech computer company. He never ceases to amaze the world.

After his return to Apple in 1996 as interim CEO, He quoted himself as "iCEO"! at the 2000 Macworld Expo. Truely said!

We lost him at an early age... Had he survived the disease, we would have seen much more innovative products from Apple.

We all miss him dearly and may God rest his soul in peace!
