AnandTech - OCZ's Octane SSD: Indilinx Everest, Up to 1TB in a Consumer Drive

$1300 or thereabouts for that 1TB is too steep for me. It's a great milestone but since an SSD shines best as a boot drive, I'll stick to smaller, more affordable SSDs for my systems.

Perhaps someday in the future, SSD prices will rival what we see for mechanical HDDs today.

All in good time, as we all know prices today will be the discount bins of tomorrow ! Can't wait to score one for $299.00......could be a long wait.......that's ok as well !

Agree with both. this should keep the small SSD drives dropping in price. and still being better quality. there is a 128GB Drive with this new tech as well as the 1TB and that was priced well. But I cant wait till these SSD's are the norm instead of an "upgrade" to your current setup.
