Hi there

Stats like this need to be interpreted VERY CAREFULLY.

Back in 2009 there weren't many tablets or Ipads -- most of these run non MS OS'es such as Android etc.

I agree that the snippet mentions DESKTOPS but the desktop market itself has been steadily declining as people use other devices or a combination of devices for Internet, Office apps etc etc.

If I were Microsoft this particular piece of information woudn't worry me at all -- especially as IE10 (available on the W8 developer preview edition) seems really good and certainly overcomes a lot of the problems that IE9 has had.

Browsers like Firefox (or Mozilla) having had their day for a while are becoming (common mistake with a lot of Software) more and more bloated with all sorts of addons and get more complex to use by the day.

Browsers like OPERA which have basically stuck to their remit -- by being small, bloat free and fast will survive and are very easy to use on Smartphones as well as laptops.

Cheers
