Live Mesh Update: Fixes for Win7

    Posted: 13 Jan 2009
Microsoft will soon post a update for Live Mesh that will fix issues with shutting off Aero on Windows 7 as well as other minor updates.

Now that we are out of our holiday blackout period for releases, we’re happy to announce that the next Live Mesh for Windows client update will (at long last!) be available later today. Thank you for your patience, and please see below for the details.
    Fixes

    • Conflict-handling improved for duplicate files and folders
    • Live Mesh no longer disables Aero in Windows 7
    • Continued improvements to P2P synchronization
    • Minor usability improvements

This update will bring your Windows Live Mesh client up to version 0.9.3424.14.

Live Mesh, in it's current form, is essentially a web sync service. They give you 5gbs of online storage to sync to. You can set it up on multiple pcs and it will keep the folders you specify sycned. If you go ove 5gbs, it go into a P2P mode between two on computers instead of syncing to the website.

You can find it at mesh.com.

I seriously never thought I'd say this and mean it...

    Microsoft is on a roll.
    :O!!!

This is -exactly- what I need! I can access my massive desktop rig from my macbook at school without booting into my Win7 partition!

MS is getting way outside its box lately, and I'm loving it. I would have never expected this.

He might mean remote access. In that case, it also has a very limited remote access built in as well. I know they have a beta out for Mac, and the access another computer you go through the website.
