Google renews search deal for Firefox Quote: Mozilla, the maker of of Firefox, today announced that it has struck a new three-year deal with Google in which Google will remain the default search engine in the browser.
The financial terms were not disclosed, but reaching a new deal with Google has been seen as critical for Mozilla, a Silicon Valley nonprofit software maker.
Mozilla, which is charged with defending openness on the Web, recently reported that Google provided the lion's share of Mozilla's $120 million in revenues in 2010. That was an 18 percent jump in revenue from 2009. Article: Google renews search deal for Firefox | Digital Media - CNET News
Also: Quote: Under the deal, Mozilla will continue to offer Google as the default search engine in Firefox, which now controls about a quarter of the browser market.
"Mozilla has been a valuable partner to Google over the years and we look forward to continuing this great partnership in the years to come," said Alan Eustace, Google's head of search. http://www.pcworld.com/article/24673..._ddx_t_topnews

Firefox hits the jackpot with almost billion dollar Google deal Quote: Summary: We counted Mozilla out of the running too early. With $300-million a year in revenue from Google, Firefox is going to stay a major Web browser player. The big loser? Microsoft. I find NoScript indispensable.
My Windows 7 install and my XP VMs have no problems.
My XP install requires me to start FF 3x, before it will stay open and run.

There's got to be far more to this deal than 'have 300 million to make us the default search engine'.
I wonder what some of the future 'under the hood' changes this also entails. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Me OS 7 Ultimate x64 CPU i5 2500K 4.7 Ghz Motherboard ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe Gen 3 Memory 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 2133mhz Graphics Card Asus GTX 580 DirectCU II Sound Card X-FI Forte 7.1 + ATH-AD900 Headphones Monitor(s) Displays x2 Dell U2410 / 58" Samsung / "40 Sony Screen Resolution 1920*1200 / 1920*1080 Keyboard Topre Realforce // Ducky Shine MX Black // Filco Ninja TKL Mouse Razer Imperator + Razer Lachesis PSU Corsair AX1200W Case Lian Li PC-V1020A Cooling Noctua NH-D14: 3x140mm Gelid Wing 14 : Noctua NF-P12 120mm Hard Drives 2x Intel 520 240GB * Crucial M4 128GB * 2x Samsung F3 1TB (RAID 0) * 2x WD Caviar Blacks 2TB (RAID 0) Other Info Laptop Specs:

I've been on the Internet for a long time. Google wasn't around when I first went online, then this search engine arises before you had to search Yahoo, Excite etc for your info. Where did Google come from ? This is what makes Google practices and what it's infiltrated by very wary, they are always spinning stores who, really started Google ? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number IT'S A COMPUTER OS Windows7 |
