I did all four of mine with drives which had been in use since last August. I'd have felt better if they were brand new drives, since any serious glitch might have had me scrambling to find a temporary replacement. All went well, though, and I have not heard of one person having a serious problem doing this. If the drive is in use then Windows will see it as new hardware when you boot up, but that's about it.  | | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self
