Scroogle's Gone? Here's Who Still Offers Private Searching

I will miss this mainly because it is becoming ever more difficult to navigate webpage searches without triggering at least one annoying unwanted pop-up to make browsing less than pleasant each day. Time to try the alternatives!

I'll give DuckDuckGo and Ixquick a go for a while - I see one of them at least does https and I did use that option quite a bit on Scroogle - can't be too careful these days.

Thanks for the information concerning Scroogle. I had it as one of my homepages. I noticed that in the last couple of days IE9 was not able to open it but since that has occurred several times in the past I did not think it odd.

Now I know different.

Recycling a movie from my harddrive is taking long long time.
Why is this. Like 10 minutes plus and it still says recycling. It should only take a second. Is it bad to let it continue at its own pace or should I restart the PC and try it again?

Incredibly long delay from long on to desktop
I just installed a clean version of Win 7 Pro on my Thinkpad X200. Everything is great except for one small problem: there is a 25-30 second wait between the time i enter my logon pw and the time my desktop appears. This is highly unusual for several reasons. First, it doesn't "appear" as though...
