    They can't

Politicians should leave this stuff alone, clear THEIR OWN HOUSES FIRST and get the economy working properly again.
    As I'm sure you're aware, they can't.
Their only choice is to use distraction.

Also there is the "Politician's fallacy" to consider:
    1. Something must be done.
    2. This is something.
    3. Therefore, we must do it.

    Arizona laws are trolling

This is silly - yes people troll, harass, and bully. Trolling is typical - harassment and bullying should be seen to when they occur.

this is just more thought crime legislation - what is and what isn't trolling?

online editorials? blog discussions on particular issues? banter? arguments on discussion boards?

people will be nannied into how they interact online and through social media - nobody will learn how to just walk away, ignore, or resolve a "conflict" on the net.

make no mistake these legislative approaches to confining/restricting free speech are just building blocks for something bigger.

The thing that bothers me about this, is that the states have a tendency to play follow the leader, and when one state succeeds in passing a law, the rest scurry to catch up. Couple this with federal and corporate actions recently, and it seems that the internet as we know it is a thing of the past. I will admit that the internet has it's kinks, but it appears that it is going to become a gordian knot.

I think that the word should be stalled, rather than stopped. It is still rumbling around, and shall reappear, when they think that they have disguised it enough.

I can see passing laws to protect teens on their social accounts, but anything other than that would be socialism and violate our 1st Amendment rights.

All lawmakers do is sit on their little thrones and try to get Socialist Laws passed for their personal agendas, is this Democracy? or is it Socialism? The entire Democracy thing is Null, it is a cover up for the Socialist Truth. all we have is a right to vote for fixed elections and probably less than 2% of the laws that are passed or not. Is this really Fair?

I agree with the "1st Amendment" part.

I don't agree with the rest of your description, though.
    What you're describing is corruption.

The obvious goal of this legislation, is the good old "foot in the door" tactic.
If they can pass this, it will be expanded to cover other "crimes".

    For example, complaining about:

    • The Government.
    • The Corporations.
    • Individual politicians.

In fact, the only people it won't help, are the ones it is claimed to be protecting.
