CISPA- the new SOPA?

Quote:
Ah, Chris Dodd. It seems like every time he opens his mouth, he makes things worse. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, he responds to a series of questions about SOPA by trying to tiptoe around the issue, but basically admits that there are backroom conversations going on between a small number of people, and that "between now and sometime next year," Hollywood and the tech industry will "come to an understanding." He's asked specifically if there are conversations going on now, and if the White House is pressuring folks to come to such "an understanding."

The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) is being compared to SOPA for the
outrage it's generating online. But a few key differences between the fight against SOPA
and the fight against CISPA should give any opponent pause.

It has since been referred to and reported by the appropriate committees. Since then, according to Representative Rogers’ own web site, over 100 members of congress have already announced their support for the bill

I think it should be illegal to keep resurfacing the same bill with a different name. ACTA, PIPA, SOPA... now this?

I think that they should rename this from SOPA to The Phoenix. Burn it down, and it continues to rise from the ashes.
