Don't they sell Baked beans in Iceland? The substitute slogan for Heinz .."Beans means f**ts.

On W8 and touch screens. Do other people get turned off by smeared fingerprints all over a large display.

As youngsters we used to take great delight in singing this little ditty:

Beans, beans are good for your heart. The more you eat, the more you f**t.

As for touchscreens, I hate finger prints on the screen, so I won't be switching to Windows 8 or changing my display in any great hurry.

Just not having the Start button vs Slider is enough for me to say no Im not touch screen or tablet friendly i got sausage fingers and i have a hard enough time making simple cell texts
ye the whole not having a start button and touch screen stuff turned me off too and the rest off the stuff in the os seems almost the same besides the metro ,touch screen features and no start button.

I like that Microsoft consolidated the versions down.

I'll be buying Windows 8 at release. I find there are benefits to me that 7 doesn't offer right off the bat. Like, for example, active clock speed management. I don't like Windows 7 ever did this, but 8 does. When the Balanced power plan is chosen, Windows will change your processor's clock speed to meet the processing demand. My CPU can go from 800 MHz all the way to 2.8 Ghz or even 3.6 if I'm overclocked. That means to me: lower power bills for I have my puter running literally almost 24/7.

Windows 8 is focusing more on being able to do "that" without or few third party addons. And to me that means: stupidly faster and easier system upgrades and little time installing software and changing settings.

Huh. I always thought it was beans, beans, the magical fruit. the more you eat, the more you toot.

According to Wikipedia, there are a few versions:
Various versions of the song exist.[3] These are some examples of the lyrics:
    Beans, beans, the musical fruit
The more you eat, the more you toot
The more you toot, the better you feel
So we have beans at every meal!1
    or
Beans, beans, they're good for your heart
The more you eat, the more you fart
The more you fart, the happier/better you feel
So let's eat beans with every meal1
    or
Beans, beans, they're good for your heart
The more you eat, the more you fart
The more you fart, the more you eat
The more you sit on the toilet seat
    or
Beans, beans, they give you gas
They make you fart, and burn your ass
The more you eat, the more it hurts
So slow down your eating to stop the squirts

Beans, beans, the magical fruit the more you eat the more you toot 1This line can also be replaced with: "So eat them beans at every meal"

    Hi guys..

I have reviewed the beta versions of w8.... and as w/ many reviews all over.. it ABSOLUTELY SUCKS BALLz..

sure it's pretty and all but jeez.. it's such a dumb touchscreen wana be OS on a desktop PC.. i mean seriously, it's like these guys developed w8 more for tablets than PCs... and the way it's done now, in my oppinion, is an insult to us power PC users.. trust me i tried really hard to like it.. the no start button crap, the many actions it took to swtich tasks etc.. sheeesh... if i kept on, i'd probably go nuts..

so, I, like millions of other PC users will treat W8 like we did VISTA.. IGNORE IT like a a puddle of water in a storm.. lolz

WINDOWS 7 is an awesome OS, and it will stay AWESOME as it matures.. and I feel Windows 8 is a stripped down prettyfied AND dummified version of Windows 7..

my shout to MS, Who the F makes these decisions? has he ever used a desktop latey? he's probably on his tablets 99% of the time.

DESKTOP IS DESKTOP , there's a reason why a lot of us CHOOOSE TO WORK on a desktop, rather than a tablet interface..

anyway im ranting now lolz.. sorry.. im just soo frustrated.. coz for a technical guy like me, who services a lot of customers, and w/ MILLIONS of users just jumping into w8 blindly, let along millions of Desktops and notebooks coming pre-installed with Windows 8, ish is gona be a b*tch for me and my tech support crew..

so anyway stay away from W8... that's my personal advise..

    PS
i dont mind it on my phone/tab.. just not on my PC/Laptop

Was just coming out here to post about the fourth flavor now announced. We will get to 8 yet.
    Hi there.
The feature I'm currently using A LOT (almost 3 times a week) is the Windows to go.

No mention of this in any of the 3 or 4 versions ( Or will it become like "Heinz Baked Beans" -- great stuff but in the early 70's their advertising slogan was "Heinz -- 57 varieties" so we all wondered what would they do if they added another brand " !!).

    Heinz - Trivia

BTW after a stint in the UK I'm addicted to Baked Beans -- obviously in common with loads of others.

    From the Heinz site :

How many cans of baked beans does Heinz sell every day in the U.K. alone?

In the U.K., Beanz Meanz Heinz.

A staggering 1.5 million cans of Heinz Baked Beans are sold every day in the U.K.

    Cheers

    jimbo.
Heinz Beans Rule! Windows 8 on the other hand....meh!

I have to say I'm not that impressed with it at all. Sure it will be good on a touchscreen, tablet. But on a Desktop PC...not for me at all!

imho, Microsoft has missed their time window for Windows 8. This should have come out in some form with Windows 7
and evolved from there for Smartphones and Tablets. Ms had 9 years from XP to update. Windows is now a very small niche market on smartphones and tablets. It is hard to see them catching up at this point.
Tablets and Smartphone OS are the wild west of early adoption from decades ago.
