They can go to 0GB for all I care. I don't use SkyDrive, let alone any file sharing service (legal or otherwise). I see no point in openly sharing my stuff.
This isn't about "sharing" your stuff. You don't have to "share" your stuff with anybody.

Unless of course by "share", you simply mean put it on a computer that is not run and maintained by you. < - Many do have concerns about this and there is no right or wrong answer, it all depends upon the user.

I don't use any of these services for sharing with others, but instead use them as
1). Replacement to carrying around a USB key with me. As long as I have internet access, and the files I want are in SkyDrive, it's like having a 25GB USB key with me at all times.
2). Secondary copy of data that is in a location other than my home. This way if I am robbed and all of my computers are stolen, or my house burns to the ground, or my home floods and my computers are all damaged that I have a safe copy of all of my kids digital photos and such.

I've worked around my robocopy issue. I found that I can use Karen's Replicator to sync 2 directories and NOT use timestamps as a variable in determining whether or not to copy them. It will just use file size and file name..which is good enough for my purposes of having my own digital photos in a remote location.
I am using Karen's replicator also, after you mentioned it. That is exactly what I needed! Thanks so much. (I would rep you, but the News and Chillout Room Forums don't allow that)

Thanks, don't worry about the rep points, I don't care about them at all. I'm not in it for the points.

well, I had to copy all my photos into the Skydrive local folder..so they'd automatically go online. I guess that's the only way.

Seven gigs is definitely small, but it seems Microsoft has looked into how on average, people use the service. It's primarily documents and pictures that are uploaded with maybe small videos here and there. For many people, it will be fine.

But since I've been a Windows Live user for a few years, I have a total of 50 gigs free between my Hotmail and Live accounts. The SkyDrive app has DEFINITELY jumpstarted my backing up of personal files and photos.

Not only that, but I believe later this year with Windows 8 (I'm not sure if SkyDrive supports this now), but you will be able to stream media content from your SkyDrive on whatever device you have except for android. And, you will be able to setup your home puter or whatever PC to become your PERSONAL SkyDrive. So theoretically, I could have 8 terabytes of media I could potentially stream onto a laptop or Windows Phone or icrap device and on and on...

Yes, SkyDrive supports Win 8, although I have no intention of using Win 8.

I use 3 Skydrive accounts. One I use to share photos with family members and is using 6.7 GB of storage. That account was automatically upgraded to the 25GB limit, I assuming because I was close to the "new" 7GB limit. The other 2 accounts, which are using considerably less storage, I had to manually upgrade to the 25GB limit.

About time they integrated skydrive to windows explorer! A bit late but its welcome. Will come in handy for my main "hotmail" account but I still use Gladinet for all my other accounts. I only really use skydrive as a backup for my pictures...in case both my hard drives fail! lol
