And what about the many people with the (apparently) unlimited budgets for building gaming rigs, who also complained that it was utter s**t?

    But indeed,

Vista, R.I.P. You came to life too early, and you leave us none too soon.
Never once had any issues with gaming.. Nor did I hear of many that did that had any knowledge of how things work.

There is the odd chance to spawn irregularities though.

If I do a full reformat on my PC, and I don't do anything but game for several weeks I hardly get any problems, but as soon as I turn my PC into a multi-functional entity and not just pure entertainment, problems start to show. I have never experienced issues with Vista when installing/uninstalling games for the 1000th time, as long as that's all it does, but when I've used other applications, PhotoShop, VisualStudio, 3d, Gimp, endorphin, you name it, it all slowly starts to degrade and ultimately die, no matter how clean I try to keep it.

I'm not saying it's not user error 40, I'm by no means a Vista expert, but I do consider myself above the average user, and I am fairly proficient at keeping my system clear of all sorts of trash. And to raise a question: Even if it so happens to be User Error 40, I am of the opinion that if there is a substantial amount of occurences of these "errors", it may not be about poor coding, but could it be bad design? Many aquitances with about the same needs for programs as me, seem to be having these issues as well.

I never fail to replicate these problems once I start hitting the total number of apps. Again, I might be a bloody noob.

My opinion is that Windows is +decent for gaming, horrible for a multitude of applications.
