Microsoft's New Terms of Service to Block Class Action Suits
Quote:
Microsoft said late Friday that the company has begun changing its user agreements to prevent consumers from filing class-action lawsuits against the company.
In a blog post authored by Jim Fielden, the assistant general counsel at Microsoft, the company said that it would take advantage of a 2011 Supreme Court case, AT&T Mobility vs. Concepcion, that allows companies to settle a complaint either privately or via small claims court, but can prevent the plaintiff from forming a class for a class action lawsuit.
The only people that I have seen get much for a class action suite was the Lawyers. I get notices from time to time on some of these suites and the payout was not worth the postage to send in the form. Now all the Lawyers will be complaining about our rights to sue.

Fewer frivolous lawsuits are worth it. I would rather MS 'abuse' the service that they sell rather than hear another story about a lawsuit. It is understandable if MS is bullying another company, but come on... lawsuits because you found a way to use the law to make fast cash? A big reason so many products are so expensive.
