Actually the fine print says, that if you buy Windows 7 today, you can get Windows 8 for just $14.99. Of course, back in the day when we went from XP to Vista and then Vista to 7...they gave you the next version for FREE...but with Windows 8 they are trying to get $14.99 | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

@pparks1
That's good to know, but I'll just hang onto my $14.99.
But it is the Pro version... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP p6370t OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU i3-530 Motherboard MSI - IONA Memory 8 Gb Graphics Card onboard Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays Dell ST2400 Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Hard Drives Intell 520 SSD 120Gb, WD6400AAKS, 640Gb & WD USB MyBook 1Tb Internet Speed 1.5 Mmbps, Hughes Satellite |

^ With Vista, if you bought a copy of Vista during a specific timeframe, you got the same version of Windows 7 for free. So, Vista Home Premium got free upgrade to 7 Home Premium, and Vista 7 Ultimate got free upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate.
I'd save my $14.99 too. Spend it on something useful, like lunch. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

You won't see XP updates for most of the new ones however since that is now too old. I'll be trying to keep this or the next build going as long as I can just to keep 7 alive here!
When powering up in the RP today I went to reorganize the Start screen when removing some obsolete items for the stuff I pinned there and the squares smeared when moved! Graphical anomalties for sure and I said "Forget it!
