Local storage of any important data is the only way to go. Sadly this is just the beginning of the dumb terminal mainframe setup re visited. Now what will happen when the poor souls that trust this fad have 100% of their stuff in the magical cloud and the $#it hits the fan? I see many possible holes in this idea and do not support it at all. Storage is so cheap these days, where is the gain to be had from any of the cloud options available?

"The Cloud" -- It's the last death throes of an idea that passed its sell by date before it was even invented.
I'm sure that the zillions of customers (and I.T staff) who have been effected by operations such as I.T and Telephone call centres in particular being "Off shored" are 100% satisfied with the services they've been getting recently !!!! (Do certain UK Banks come to mind where customers couldn't get at their OWN money for over 3 weeks in some cases).
If we rely on the "Cloud Cuckoo Land" approach these incidents will become more common place. The other two insidious pieces of Cloud use will be --no control over the price and possibly every time you logon to access your stuff you'll probably be bombarded with commercials.
These days there really isn't ANY need whatsoever for "The Cloud". What does it actually bring to the table. The whole "Off shoring" debacle all over again.
As people have pointed out - storage is cheap and plentiful these days --why entrust your stuff to 3rd parties where it could become compromised without you having any control over it whatsoever.
Just look at what happens in a simple case when someone simply loses a smartphone containing all their "Facebook" contacts. -- If they didn't take a copy then not only have they lost that data but it potentially is in someone else's hands.
