You can't polish a turd. Metro is that turd.
Don't care if it's a free upgrade. Not installing that turd on my system.

Oh you guys. 8 isn't that bad. I mean, Metro isn't the greatest, but there's still the traditional desktop. I'll buy it because it's a good deal, and if it's stable.
But is it worth $40? For somebody perfectly content with Windows 7, who isn't excited about the Metro interface, is it really advantageous to spend the $40 per PC for this?

You make a great point. If you're happy with Windows 7, stay with it. If you don't it, don't buy it. To me, it is worth 40 dollars because I like Metro, and I'm sure there will be a lot of great software for Windows 8. But if it isn't stable, and it's crappy, then I'll ditch it.

I'll hold out until XP-quality programming returns to Microsoft (not going to be holding my breath on that one). And I am in fact being perfectly serious.

Gee such a wonderful "8 loving" audience no less! And MS is now getting so desperite to sell 8 they lowered the price down to near $0! haaaa....!

You have to be right up front and say it the way it is being most are simply frowning on 8 to start with! What a let down from the success 7 enjoys once you make the larger comparison!
