I don't think this style of version numbers will ever go away. It has been like that for years. Personally, Office xxxx (release year, sorta) sounds better than, for example, Google Chrome 47 xD | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer Aspire V3-531G OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel B960 Sandy Bridge (2.2GHz, 2MB L3 cache) Motherboard Intel® HM77 Express Memory 6GB DDR3 Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GT630M with 1GB dedicated VRAM + Intel HD Sound Card Integrated audio with 2xHigh Definition Dolby® v4 speakers Monitor(s) Displays 15.6" HD LED Acer CineCrystal™ (high-brightness 200-nit) Screen Resolution 1.366 x 768 (WXGA) Keyboard Acer FineTip & MultiTouch Touchpad Case Custom Midi Tower Hard Drives 500GB SATA Other Info HDMI, VGA D-sub, USB 3.0, 2xUSB 2.0, RJ-45, 2x3.5mm audio (1x headphones, 1x microphone), card reader 5-in-1, Acer InviLink™ Nplify™ IEEE 802.11a/g/n, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth™ 4.0 + HS |

The Windows 8 GUI will look great on a Windows 8 device, but what about using it with a Windows 7 OS? I like the new features with the PowerPoint Presentation. Maybe Microsoft look produce a Windows 8 and 7 edition for Office 2013? If that doesn't hinder their profits too much :P | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion dm1 Notebook PC OS Windows 7 Home Premium x86 Service Pack 1 - Linux Mint Mate 14 x64 CPU AMD E-450 APU (64-Bit) @ 1.65GHz Dual-Core Motherboard HP 3387 36.0A (Socket FT1) Memory 4GB DDR3 @ 676MHz Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD 6320 Graphics Sound Card Beats Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Monitor(s) Displays LCD HP Monitor Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 @ 60Hz Keyboard Standard PS/2 Keyboard Mouse Synaptics TouchPad V 7.5/Logitech USB Wireless PSU Microsoft Composite Battery - ACPI Case HP Cooling HP Cool Sense Hard Drives 500GB - SATA Hitachi HTS547550A9E384 Internet Speed 24.0 Mbps Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Browser Opera 12.15; Firefox 21 Other Info NIC - Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter

In any case, nope! Ever used Office 2010 on XP? *cringes* | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer Aspire V3-531G OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel B960 Sandy Bridge (2.2GHz, 2MB L3 cache) Motherboard Intel® HM77 Express Memory 6GB DDR3 Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GT630M with 1GB dedicated VRAM + Intel HD Sound Card Integrated audio with 2xHigh Definition Dolby® v4 speakers Monitor(s) Displays 15.6" HD LED Acer CineCrystal™ (high-brightness 200-nit) Screen Resolution 1.366 x 768 (WXGA) Keyboard Acer FineTip & MultiTouch Touchpad Case Custom Midi Tower Hard Drives 500GB SATA Other Info HDMI, VGA D-sub, USB 3.0, 2xUSB 2.0, RJ-45, 2x3.5mm audio (1x headphones, 1x microphone), card reader 5-in-1, Acer InviLink™ Nplify™ IEEE 802.11a/g/n, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth™ 4.0 + HS |

Office 2013 has to be longest download I have ever installed :O I downloaded the whole Office package (maybe that's the reason) but I didn't see any Custom install option anywhere :/
I use Open Office 3, so I like the option of having formats which are now more compatible with Open Office (saves time changing the file type to Word 2003), however, I don't see much improvement from Office 2010, apart a much greater emphasis on SkyDrive and Cloud. | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion dm1 Notebook PC OS Windows 7 Home Premium x86 Service Pack 1 - Linux Mint Mate 14 x64 CPU AMD E-450 APU (64-Bit) @ 1.65GHz Dual-Core Motherboard HP 3387 36.0A (Socket FT1) Memory 4GB DDR3 @ 676MHz Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD 6320 Graphics Sound Card Beats Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Monitor(s) Displays LCD HP Monitor Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 @ 60Hz Keyboard Standard PS/2 Keyboard Mouse Synaptics TouchPad V 7.5/Logitech USB Wireless PSU Microsoft Composite Battery - ACPI Case HP Cooling HP Cool Sense Hard Drives 500GB - SATA Hitachi HTS547550A9E384 Internet Speed 24.0 Mbps Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Browser Opera 12.15; Firefox 21 Other Info NIC - Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter

I'm having some issues when running Outlook 2013. If I close outlook with the metro start screen open on my other monitor, the metro start screen disappears and I'm left with a blank full screen blue window. After that pressing the Windows key toggles back and forth between Metro and the blue window. The only way back to my desktop is to mouse to the corner or the screen and click the tile. I also had Outlook crash on me when I closed it yesterday. I don't know if its Outlook of 8 RP that's flakey. I've got some Metro Apps that won't work now too. I've had that happen before and ended up reinstalling Windows 8 to fix it. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built OS Windows 7 Ultimate AMD64 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 980 Black Edition Deneb 3.7GHz Motherboard Asus M4N68T-M V2 µATX Motherboard Memory 8GB 4GBx2 Kingston PC10600 DDR3 1333 Memory Graphics Card BFG NVIDIA Geforce 220GT 1 Gig DDR2 PCIe Sound Card VIA VT1708s High Definition Audio 8-channel Onboard Monitor(s) Displays 2 x 19" I-INC AG191D TFT Flat Panel Screen Resolution 1280x1024 x 2 Keyboard Logitech Internet 600 Mouse Logitech Wireless Trackman Wheel PSU Retail Plus 465 Watt Case Power Up Black ATX Mid-Tower Case Cooling Stock heatsink and fan Hard Drives 500 Gig WesternDigital SATA-300 Drive Internet Speed 80 Mbps Down 30 Mbps Up Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Browser Internet Explorer 10 Other Info HP DVD1040e Lightscribe - External USB2 |
