In my opinion the answer would be, no. I used to have Office 97 which I used for non-business purposes and it served me well. Later I upgraded to Office 2007 which also serves me well. But to be perfectly honest, the only advantage for me was the fact that 97 didn't run quite as well in Vista. However, since I have no idea what the newest one is like, I can't be 100% certain that my answer is correct. Well---maybe it's 99% correct.
