What will Microsoft do when giving Office their version numbers with release dates becomes stupid? Need to have a read of the article tomorrow morning (:

I don't think this style of version numbers will ever go away. It has been like that for years. Personally, Office xxxx (release year, sorta) sounds better than, for example, Google Chrome 47 xD

The Windows 8 GUI will look great on a Windows 8 device, but what about using it with a Windows 7 OS? I like the new features with the PowerPoint Presentation. Maybe Microsoft look produce a Windows 8 and 7 edition for Office 2013? If that doesn't hinder their profits too much :P

I assume you made an oops and meant Office 2013 GUI instead of Win8 GUI being used on Win7.

In any case, nope! Ever used Office 2010 on XP? *cringes*

Office 2013 has to be longest download I have ever installed :O I downloaded the whole Office package (maybe that's the reason) but I didn't see any Custom install option anywhere :/

I use Open Office 3, so I like the option of having formats which are now more compatible with Open Office (saves time changing the file type to Word 2003), however, I don't see much improvement from Office 2010, apart a much greater emphasis on SkyDrive and Cloud.

It won't work on the DP or the CP, only the RP.
It's also working fine on the RTM.

I'm having some issues when running Outlook 2013. If I close outlook with the metro start screen open on my other monitor, the metro start screen disappears and I'm left with a blank full screen blue window. After that pressing the Windows key toggles back and forth between Metro and the blue window. The only way back to my desktop is to mouse to the corner or the screen and click the tile. I also had Outlook crash on me when I closed it yesterday. I don't know if its Outlook of 8 RP that's flakey. I've got some Metro Apps that won't work now too. I've had that happen before and ended up reinstalling Windows 8 to fix it.
