As I don't have time to just sit and study a company's logo it makes no difference to me what it looks like. I don't much care what they do with it!!!

I installed windows 8 release preview. It's terrible. They destroyed the desktop interface. Not sure why. You still have to use it. Metro on the desktop is butt ugly. The touch screen interface isn't bad. It's essentially a start menu for tablets. Why they destroyed the desktop interface and why you can't have a choice between desktop and metro is beyond me. It sucks really bad.

FWIW: Another time for the MS Haters to come out of the woodwork.

Why are they on Windows 7 if they hate MS so much?

    Rich,

Why do you hate people who hate what Microsoft has done to the desktop users with Windows 8? What concern is it of yours?

Maybe because W7 works and 8 won't? And because the market got dominated by MS over years so they don't get alot of choice?

Personally, I don't see what all the fuss is about. So they changed their logo, big deal! It is still a very recognizable Microsoft image.

When IE9 came out, it had a new logo, and nobody even bothered to comment on it as much as this new logo. By stripping down some gradients and the flashy flashy unnecessary crap from IE9's logo it became, IMHO, by far the best they have ever made. Aero was flashy and awesome in Vista, then got stripped to a boring Windows 7 look, but now this new logo, and the concept that stands behind it in all Microsoft products, aims to be simple and pretty; in other worlds: subtle!

Not having a blindingly flashy fancy logo anymore doesn't mean a thing. Once again, people are just over-blowing things out of proportions.
