Microsoft kept their original September 4th date to release Server 2012, yet I don't see the Essentials version on TechNet. I see the other versions, including VL that my subscription isn't able to get.
Apparently, Essentials hasn't gone RTM yet...only the higher end SKUs.
Thought the Server 2012 was already released? O.o Even though, I've only used a server (Server 2008 to be precise) a few times, and have no need to be running a server at all, I still like to learn about servers to build up my knowledge; sad it sounds I know :P
Now... I like Windows 8 and this legendary Metro UI. It's not too bad but can be better. Never mind. :)
But story with Server 2012 is other. UI is very very bad. Appearance (including colors, themes and other) is tooooo awful! That can be very better! Server 2003 and Server 2008 & R2 is much better.
Maybe I will try it, that was RC when I tried.
Trinty :)
What is Server 2012 in a nutshell.
Is it for businesses I guess?
Windows Server 2012 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It's a operating system designed for servers which are generally used in every business; my school had a central server.
Ok I initially dont like it.......Metro on the server is just wrong (that could be why the default install option is core no GUI).
I will however wait to make my mind up on it until I've tried remote administration from a surface.
Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 is same. But Windows Server 2012 is designed for business, servers and domain.
This version of Windows Server doesn't include Classic theme and Itanium based systems.
But users still enough using Windows Server 2008 R2.
