God I can't stand Metro, sigh. Until it's released and there's a surefire way to get rid of it permanently. I'm sticking with 7
I'm just not even going to touch Windows 8 and I'm sticking with 7. I tired the developers preview, and I hated it.
I used it for about for a while didn't like it either. Staying with win 7 also. win 8 just doesn't seem worth the money to me.
I think they realize that with the cost they're setting. The cheap upgrade if you have the consumer preview or developer, 14.99 if you buy a laptop now, and so forth.

By any yardstick, the Developer Preview was a pile of poo.
    ...
I wonder how many base their dislike of 8 on bad experiences with the DP?
W8 CP and W8 RP couldn't (or wouldn't) install my sound driver correctly.

W8 DP and W8 Ent are the only versions that work properly on my PC.

Yeah, download a program called Classic Shell. I've been using it to get XP functionality back in Win7. Now it's used to get Win7 functionality back in Win8, like the Start Menu.
