Windows 7: IE10 on Windows 7 available in November

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32 bit/Windows 8 64bit

I saw a notice about this the other day, not here, and thought I'd like to try it, I'm using IE9 at present and like that so we'll just have to wait and see if 10 is better or not.

The problem with IE10 is that there are many file types it refuses to run for security reasons.

This is giving me fits when doing things like trying to update my routers firmware which does not work with IE10, I also can't use my .gws file to reinstall my routers settings. I've also noticed that IE10 will not even download a gadget file, I'm using the RP so I still have my gadgets.

I may be sticking to IE9 for a long time to come on my Windows 7 machines.

The security on these new browsers is great but when you can no longer do basic tasks it's time to rethink what the hell we are doing here.

I'll stick with Firefox. IE doesn't have the sync opportunity on Windows 7 PCs.

Same here. I learned a long time ago to wait and see before adopting new technology and then adopt it only if it improves the quality of life for me or I'm forced to due to obsolescence.

With IE 10 being available in Windows 7, there's no more reason for me to upgrade to Windows 8 for my laptop. I'll probably dual boot Windows 8 and 7 on my Surface Pro when I get it next year.

Hi there
Hope it's the "Classic version" which is fine -- not that Nightmare Full screen Metro version backported to Windows 7.

Cheers

How is it available in Windows 7, i rerun the process after reading this news...

1. by IE 10 download the page at top is Internet Explorer 10 Test Drive
2. Clicked to the download link at the top right then selected IE 10 preview
3. Hit the rock bottom as usual when it leads to this page Internet Explorer Feedback Program | Microsoft Connect with nothing on it and I hear crickets.

Now i have upgraded my computer i'll give IE10 a go after some reviews in November. My main concern was with IE9 the use of graphics acceleration or software one, causing weakness on my previous Windows 7 x64 computer.
On a based Vista SP2 x32bits system, i had to roll back to IE8 in order stopping freezing loading pages.
