I have every release except Windows 3 and ME, each on adifferent machine. They all still work (I take a nice nap booting pre Windows 7). I had the "opportunity" to visit all of them this month - October, the month of Tech hell. I broke everything I touched. My modern HP with Windows 7 died, but i resurrected the previous machine. Networking wouldn't work, so I attempted to connect each of the older machines one at a time......fail, fail, no hardware, no hardware, fail.

Soooooo now I have 6 machines to fix - or not. They all repaired easily except the new HP with Windows 7 - that was sent to HP under warranty.

XP is 11 years old, wow!
Anyone running OS2? Yes, we all are.

Windows XP was a good solid operating system, however, Windows 7 is a even better operating system and is the new Windows XP we grew to know and love so much.

In the next 11 years, the name of this thread will be replaced with Windows 7, and Windows 8 will be regarded as another Vista designed for tablets and phones.

I still have my XP Home (2005)... now my Husband's computer, so he (who has no knowledge) can use it, and only it

My XPpro (laptop- 2006) has been doing all my testing and come through with no scars ... it's been upgraded to Vista Business and is still the "Champ"!

MY Windows 7 Ultimate started out as Vista Ultimate (custom made for me - 2008). It, too has done plenty of testing...This one is mine, and nobody but me touches it !!

In all, my experiences with XP and Vista have been pretty fantastic over the years.

Jacee: You know someone is going to badmouth vista. You and I might be the only ones who like it. I think it was a solid OS, UAC nagging drove people mad, mad I tell ya, absolutely insane!

Anyway, I feel just a little more sane knowing that I'm not the only person on the planet who likes Vista.

It's always worked for me ... too bad for those who just decided it didn't work, period!
