BBC is usually good --but really totally IGNORE any comments made by Gartner --that firm just dispenses total B/S --Its predictions have a lower success rate than that of the old "Classical Delphic Oracle" or even than by random guessing.

Ms will survive -- maybe the new woman will finally sort out the desktop / Metro schizophrenia that is Windows 8 and turn it into a sensible OS - customisable for Tablets / Phones / computers like it should have been in the first place.

He won't go to AMD -- that company is going to be the "Next Kodak" -- couldn't see where the future is going --and failed to deliver to Intel the knockout punch when they had the chance to really "Sock it to them".

AMD is on the slippery slope to Oblivion now -- their CPU's are old hat compared with INTEL and by buying Nvidia just shows how messed up they are -- pretty well any DECENT computer whether a laptop or workstation (and soon any decent tablet) uses INTEL graphics these days --fast, stable and usually WORKS.

AMD probably won't be around in a year or two's time any more --certainly not in its present form.

Perhaps IBM should enter this market again after leaving hardware more than a decade ago.
