Does it scan email?
If it does, it does not stamp it like AVG etc. | My System Specs | | |

I have been using it for a while now and have not had it catch anything yet lol.
But I consider myself a "safe" user lol. I take great pride of not getting crap on my computer.
I do a scan at least once a week with it and so far so good. I doubt I have any viruses or spyware. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Asus 15.4" laptop OS Windows 7 7100 build CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5 Motherboard Asus Memory 4gig Graphics Card Nvidia 9500 512mb mobile Monitor(s) Displays External 26" Samsung TOC (very nice!!) It's a great program for the casual internet user, but if you engage in high risk behavior, you might consider another solution. Don't know how well it detects those high level baddies yet. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Zen Productions OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel i7-860 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P Memory Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz, 8-8-8-24 1.65v 2x2GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon 5770 HD Sound Card Intel High Definition Sound Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech G110 Mouse Logitech MX Revolution PSU Corsair CMPSU-750HX 750W Case Antec p183 Cooling Corsair H50 Water Cooler Hard Drives Western Digital Caviar Black 500gb Internet Speed 768 mb/s |

There's been an interesting debate on the merit of scanning e-mail. One side takes the position that malware carried by e-mail cannot be used until it is extracted and therefore there is no need to slow things down as e-mail is received - just wait until the malware tries to go to memory or disk during extraction. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway, Toshiba Laptop, and Home Brew OS Windows 7 x64 HP, Windows 7 HP, Windows 7 Ult CPU Intel I3, Cerelon, Pentium 4 @ 3Ghz Motherboard Intel, Intel, Asus Memory 8G, 3G, 3G Graphics Card On-board Intel, On-board nVidia, nVIDIA card Sound Card on-board, on-board, SoundBlaster Monitor(s) Displays Hannspree HF237, Toshiba, SyncMaster 931B Screen Resolution default (all) Keyboard standard wired (all) Mouse standard wired (all) PSU 300w, unk, 650w Case black, black, grey Cooling air (all) Hard Drives 1T internal, 320G internal, 160G internal, 1T networked Internet Speed 6M down, 768K up Other Info Home LAN through Linksys hub to 4 port and wireless switch/router. You have a good point there. As soon as malware hits memory, Id have thought MSE should detect it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS Windows 7 Professional 64-bit CPU Intel E8400 3GHz Motherboard Intel DX48BT2 Memory Kingston PC3-10700H 4Gb Graphics Card XFX Radeon HD 5850 BlackEd. Sorry to be so thick You aren't thick - that was a good question...
MSE is an antivirus/malware solution. With it you don't need another antivirus solution. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway, Toshiba Laptop, and Home Brew OS Windows 7 x64 HP, Windows 7 HP, Windows 7 Ult CPU Intel I3, Cerelon, Pentium 4 @ 3Ghz Motherboard Intel, Intel, Asus Memory 8G, 3G, 3G Graphics Card On-board Intel, On-board nVidia, nVIDIA card Sound Card on-board, on-board, SoundBlaster Monitor(s) Displays Hannspree HF237, Toshiba, SyncMaster 931B Screen Resolution default (all) Keyboard standard wired (all) Mouse standard wired (all) PSU 300w, unk, 650w Case black, black, grey Cooling air (all) Hard Drives 1T internal, 320G internal, 160G internal, 1T networked Internet Speed 6M down, 768K up Other Info Home LAN through Linksys hub to 4 port and wireless switch/router.
