And I thought seeing "Login with your FB account!" plastered all over the modern-day WWW was annoying enough... (ノ゜Д゜)ノ ⌒┻━┻

oh crap. maybe, and I mean maybe they will make ads that don't hammer you with
RANDOM NONSENSE YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED AT (also blinking on and off)
in the middle of things you actually care of.

If that fails, Adblock+ will keep saving the day, as it always did.

btw, yeah, say goodbye to privacy.

I really doubt that they will be that considerate. Business is business after all.

well, the whole point in the article is that Facebook will allow them to know what ads are clicked in any specific page (of Facebook I suppose) by a specific user. So they have a huge sandbox to test and develop better ads than the common garden variety.

It's not that hard to figure out that the abovementioned carpet-bombing dumb advertising is less effective than even mildly smart ads that at least try to guess the general theme of the site they are into (like say Google's ads).

That makes good sense to me, now hopefully it will to the parties concerned as well.
