Seems like alot of you are afraid of IE.
Why???
I'm not necessarily afraid of IE...I use IE9 right now, and will use IE10 when it comes out officially. I used the preview release for a while, but I'm still having issues from it (mainly with the Bing search toolbar, but they're still frustrating.) I just wish Microsoft would get IE10 final for Win 7 out, already!!

I don't have ANY toolbars installed - in any of the browsers I use - I learned early that they tend to screw the pooch much to easily and much too often. (Yahoo Companion in XP anyone?)

Final finished version downloaded today.
Every setting transferred from RC version flawlessly.
I looked pretty hard and could find no difference.

XD... I wish you luck... I used that OS long time ago... and to maintain performance and reduce BSODs to minimum, I had to defrag every week... sounds silly, but worked for me...
and by minimum BSODs I talk about 1 per 2 weeks...

I guess that they just did minimal changes for the final take, but seems as fast as RC... but compared to IE9, is really faster

It seems quick alright, but doesn't score all that well with peacekeeper.

FWIW Win ME wasn't IE 6 (that was XP)
Me provided IE 5.5 and was upgradable to IE 6 SP1.

Hi there
ever tried WIN/286 -- now that was a real OS !!! and the only sort of internet you could get was via BBS'es and if you were lucky a hit and miss dial up system using a HAYES Modem connecting at 1200 Baud. or even an Acoustic coupler -- anybody remember those --screenshot enc. This device worked at about the speed of thick molasses.

A bit later a TEXT only browser was available -- although I never tried it apparently it worked quite well.

Cheers
jimbo

Flash from the past! That was the first version of Windows I purchased along with a 1200Baud modem! Those were the days - not!

You haven't lived (and died of old age) until you've used a 300 baud modem (mine was on a Commodore C64c).

Had the Commodore but not the modem - VisiCalc was THE program to have!
