Numerous users of Outlook.com were unable to access emails via the service on Monday after they were locked out of their accounts.

The problem left certain users unable to log onto the online email service via desktop or mobile from at least 10am until at least 5pm GMT. There are also reports of sluggish loading on the Outlook.com site from those able to log into the service.

Been thinking about giving it a try myself. Getting really disenchanted with my yahoo mail accounts and refuse to use gmail. (BEEN tired of being scroogled:), noticed what they were doing vis a vis "reading" my mail, even if by proxy, over gosh....2 years ago now I guess. Haven't knowingly used anything "Google" since. I have no problem with ad's btw, and if gmail had stuck to targeting me with info that was readily open ,i.e. in subject line, I'd still have accounts with them. I noticed the targeted ad's from the CONTENTS of my mail one fine day, signed out, deleted (I hope) my accounts, and haven't been a google fan since. I even quit using google maps, which in my business I used quite frequently :)

I wasn't even able to access most of my e-mails, maybe one or two would open, and then Opera would crash and recover; same situation when I tried using IE10.
