Well I guess it's a good thing SOMEBODY thought of something intuitive for W8 for a change because Microsoft certainly didn't.
Now if somebody would just stick a little X in the top right corner as an option instead of forcing you to "pull the shades down" every time you want to close a program! Dumb de dumb dumb.

Doesn't the new version of Windows Blue generate 1 USD for Ms for every keyboard stroke you make while using the OS so they don't actually have to SELL that many.

The reports of XP's death are greatly exaggerated?
The math part is easy to figure when looking at these types of factors. XP obvious now 12yrs. old is tanking in nose dive manner being too old for most to consider plus a dying version that will soon no longer see any support just like 2000, ME, Legacy all went the way of the dinosaur for most in years past.
The decline of XP may be over.

On EightForums, someone was trying to convince me that dragging an App off of the screen is easier than touching an "X".

To me one tick away is about as easy as it gets.
One tick on the Start Orb or tick on the red X ect.

I haven't seen anything for pulling the "Windows(s)" shade down but that confronts you on each startup if you have either a password, pin code, or image file assigned for logging on to the account you are using.
As far as seeing that some form of Start menu was worked up by the OEMs they have the best idea on what will see their new 8 machines sell not sit around collecting dust in a warehouse!

How do you figure that people deciding to keep their old XP systems running with one look at what is now seen is a victory for 8? That should be considered "die hard" XP fans holding onto what they know works for them! Likewise those that immediately want to replace 8 with 7 somewhat reveals just how people feel about the MS latest moves seen.

A Start menu, A Quick Launch addon toolbar(used here more that the Start except for copy and paste of shortcuts when new programs go on or restarts if not shutting down. The Start Orb or button however is best known for "keeping things together"! and organized rather then go on a search to discovery mission!

Night Hawk I was referring to the "X" in top right of the W7 screen to close a program.
W8 stupidly ditched the "X" and requires you to "drag" the top of the screen down to the bottom of the screen to close a program, like "pulling down your window shades" at home.
Just another reasonable option M$ refused to allow us.

My wife has an Apple mini IPad and when you open a website, guess what it places in the top right hand corner of the screen? An X !!
Even the fruit company tablet has an X to close the program or website, but Microsoft forgot?
Ask that person what's wrong with having a CHOICE? 
Why cater to just the mobile crowd, why not create some options so that EVERYONE can be happy
and not just a few??

That sounds about right! It must be nice to be able to make a joke out of the desktop users that relish 8 right away without actual thought on how an actual touch and swipe capable gui is what is needed for the desktop platform not a quick borrow from Windows RT. Blue will simply more of the exact RT crapola tossed onto the already pooched desktop 8 brought in.
That would require someone actually spending some time working out the details according to what does work on the desktop not what someone simply wants to toss on quick to make something else look good. And this is the first thing people notice when first getting into any new machine with 8 on it and then saying: "got to get 7 on this one fast!" showing how poorly MS thought things out.
What will sell 8 is simply someone wanting a new pc WITH A WINDOWS OS on it! Once they get into 8 regardless of what previous version(s) they have been running "What is blazes is this crap?!" is the norm! MS wasnt' too worried however since they are too focused on selling tablets not desktops or laptops even! People will still buy but not like! at the same time. Only then they will realize they are stuck with it for the most part!
