Firefox 20 improves private browsing, fixes three critical flaws

Thanks Lebon14
I use Download Statusbar so I never use Firefox' embedded manager but, when I opened the new one just to check it out, it almost crashed Firefox because of how big my history of downloads has been and it almost crashed again when I clicked "Clear downloads". Yeah... No fan of that notification either because, like I said, I don't use FF's DL manager. Looks like I'll be modifying this command in about
:config
Code:
browser.download.useToolkitUI
Change value to TRUE
Thanks for that info Lebon14. :)

Is it just me or the tab for download manager seems only to work in private browsing and not normal one (Instead just shows teh catalog window)...

Still on Firefox 12, don't give a rat's ass about updating.
I'll also likely turn off the new download manager and go back to the old one whenever I get around to updating to Firefox v2308 (which it'll probably be at when I get around to updating) because I find the current one perfect for my needs.
You may when you catch a trojan. There have been numerous security fixes since Fx 12.

I don't like the new Download Manager.
It takes 2 clicks to open it with the toolbar button and it makes managing things more difficult (i.e. clearing items).

Hi All,
There are some interesting references being made.
Could someone help me out by explaining about the different offshoots of FF that are being mentioned.
It would be a great help to me if the pro's and con's of each could be explored.
Many Thanks.

Hi BB,
Thanks for the heads up.
It seems to be very good reading the description but do you know of any downsides at all which should be considered?
Thanks again.

Ice Dragon was a major PIA. I went with Pale Moon x64. It also uses the standard FF profile.
And.... It's really fast. I run 44 add-ons, 4 plugins, and about 35 scripts. Absolutely no issues.
One more thing, Pale Moon is NOT on the insane update cycle that FF is on.
My two cents.
Hi Sarris,
I am exploring the FF offshoots and wonder what exactly the problem was that you found with Ice dragon.
Many Thanks.

i havent found any problems with ice dragon ,it does what i need it to ,its fast and all my add ons work flawlessly.
im not sure what sarris had problems with.

i have ff 20 as the default browser as my partner uses it and it has trusteer rapport which protects the sites we use for making payments and banking stuff.

Update
Some of my FF profiles (I've got 7) must have problems.
The clear downloads problem I mentioned only happens in one or two of them.
The rest behave the same as with the new or the old Downloads Manager.
