New Flickr sets the bar high with 1 TB of free cloud storage

    Posted: 21 May 2013
Flickr has just announced a re-design to its site and apps, as well as new pricing. The site looks much nicer, getting rid of the white space and filling it with more images. In a way, the new UI reminds me of 500px. The re-design is nice and all, but that is not why I am sitting here trembling while I write this. Why am I really excited? Flickr is now offering 1 TB of cloud storage for FREE!

I just checked it out and signed up for an account, and sure enough I got 1 tb
Also I wanted to check this out for clients that I have who have asked me about it
You can go into Settings (takes a bit to find it) but you can fix all the settings to make them private so no one who you do not invite can see your pictures
    pretty neat

Is that 1TB of photo data or any type of data?

Looks like it's just for photos and videos. Flickr gives an "invalid" message when you try to upload other types of files.

This is truly astounding!! I assume there is a "gotcha" and have read up as much as I could but have yet to find it. I hate to be the prophet of doom but my guess is in time this will become a paid service. For now I AM IN!
