Microsoft and Apple unleash thermonuclear war on Google and Android

Quote:
Former Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs didn't like Android and told his biographer Walter Isaacson that he would "destroy Android" because it was "a stolen product" before going on to say that he was "willing to go thermonuclear war" on the platform.

"I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple's $40 billion the money that Apple held in the bank at the time] in the bank, to right this wrong," Jobs told Isaacson.

Though Jobs is not around to see it, that thermonuclear war may now have been unleashed

Yeah... not going to happen. But on the plus side, at least consumers might get better offerings from Microsoft and Apple.

OS or device it's got to be difficult to create something which may already exist in the name of tweaking both and not step on some toes thus infringe on revenue for the copier/ tweaker
Nice read,

Maybe this is the kind of thing which will lead to a major review of the whole areas of "rights". Anti competitive, which is the point , it seems.

Hi there
the Genie is out of the bottle now - you can't put it back in again - in any case these days one could probably survive without Ms or Apple (with difficulty but it's possible)- especially with the new computer replacements (passable tablets) and decent improvements in general with Linux distros but remove GOOGLE from the mix and then that would be far worse a problem. - No android phones etc, no GMAIL etc etc.

Cheers

I divorced from MS 18 months ago and haven't looked back, so yes you can easily survive without Apple or MS. I pop in here from time to time just to keep up on the latest news and fixes you guys find but apart from that it's all open source for me. I think even if you were to remove Google from the equation - something else would take it's place -- there are linux OS's (Ubuntu) out there for mobile devices, HP tried and died, but if the market were there someone would fill it.
I would miss the level of integration I get with Google though. Good read.

The worst possible outcome for the consumer of Computer based tech products, is the spectacle of Apple and MS colluding to crush fair competition.

An alliance from Hell, IMHO.

They should beat Android with better products rather than in the courts. It's a sad world. I like Android and I like Linux. I can only hope that MS and Apple get stuck in the sand.
