Yeah it would be the extreme and expensive option, rich mans ram:)
We'd need new CPUs with several memory controllers. I don't think the added overhead would be matched by improved performance. This is one place where the term Apples and Oranges applies. It's possible, and it may be good, but would it be significantly better? Also GDDR5 chips are currently limited to 256MB so unless the density could be increased, there would be issues with the amount of ram per DIMM. I'm sure the manufacturers have thought about it

by the time pc's get DDR4 memory sticks... video cards will have DDR7 lol
Until storage speeds catch up, it won't matter what speeds RAM can reach. Even with lightning fast SSD's, they are STILL the slowest piece of hardware in a PC.
Complicated, isn't it. One of the fastest ssd's the Samsung 840 pro only needs ddr2 for its cache.
Really though, once you get a nice ssd, how much faster could you go? I mean they are already incredibly fast as it is...
