Very hard to read. Hurts my eyes.

The Green Screen - Are you a mainframer?

You guys made me curious. I copied it into Word and changed the font. I guess I am a mainframer. I understood 80% of it. This was a different world when RAM was a spinning drum with 1000 fixed 10 character words.

Some of the Russian computers I saw in the early 60's in the eastern countries had to be mounted in the basement because the damn drum vibrated a lot - it weighed 6 tons.

I could read it by zooming in in my kindle fire.

Yet we have to complain if some icon doesn't display right. Hats off to the pioneers of computing, when a "keyboard" was a large desk size appliance that either punched a paper tape or cards.

Thank you Kari. That video was very interesting.
I would of like to be the company selling paper for the printers.
Who had the job of reading all that out put to paper?

I've just joined, as if I need any more forums.

It could come in useful, I've not looked completely yet but believe the forum covers other forms i.e. Tablets etc. so as I now have a Kindle Fire it may help me at some point.

I joined a week or so ago, but probably won't spend much time there. Seasons getting ready to start etc. I hope its not as "exclusive" as some (one of mine) are. Got real grief at that one for suggesting a Malwarebytes run. Haven't been back since and was there for longer than here. Just popped in after confirmation gave it a quick look see, been busy ever since. Might have a little free time here in the next couple of days, so maybe I'll pop back in.

Looks like a budding empire here ........
