One might want to remember; if we feed Microsoft's corporate brain to fast with customers desires and needs it overwhelms their corporate brain.
This in turn effects the corporate digestive system and it starts putting out bad dung. Windows 8.
The only medication for this is (poor sales). Once they take enough poor sales pills the cure will come.

Aero is a deal breaker for me. I upgraded to Windows 7 for Aero (and many other improvements) upgraded my hardware multiple times so I could run Aero fast and clean with a powerful machine. I also like the classic Windows 2000 look but do not like the one dimensional look of 8. Square corners and horrible colours. Windows 7 looks nice even in basic non Aero mode. With Aero Windows 7 looks very nice and if we are running a mains powered desktop why is it not an option? Yes I understand on a lower powered tablet it eats battery power and graphics CPU cycles but this is why I paid for a graphics card.

Abandoning Aero is one of the things that convinces me MS as a company never realized what they have in Windows 7. It is a workhorse which is also elegant - and with the 120 National Edition's Backgrounds collection slideshow I put on all of my installs, actually breathtaking. That this is the hands-down favorite feature on hundreds of installs I've done tells me that it's beauty is a foremost Win7 feature. And Windows 8 is just as startlingly ugly.

Hey Greg I'd like to see those but clicking on your link above gives me a page not found and I don't see the files.

I don't mean to be "that guy" but what about the people that started using computers with Windows 8? Now they're just going back when it's unsensable to do so.

Thanks, guys. I corrected my link. It's one of my oldest bookmarks so I should test those more often.

Derek how does that date factor in to a link's functionality? Just asking.

Windows 7 is a qualitative Upgrade from Windows 8. So it's not going back in any real way except against a tide MS alone thought was the future. 8's cobbed (badly) off of Ipad which is a social media interface more than a production one like the Windows Desktop which was perfected in Win7. So Win7 is vastly preferable for those who want to do work efficiently, which is why the business world is ignoring completely Windows 8.

I'm not really sure Greg, I was just looking for what was different in the two links. They probably just updated it.
