Microsoft stock price hits 52-week high, suggests market approves of Nadella

The stock market is a finicky beast. While daily movements in share price often defy conventional logic, broader trends are generally representative of the confidence that the markets have in an organization. With that in mind, Microsoft's stock has hit a 52-week high today at $41.66, suggesting that Wall Street appears to approve of Nadella's direction for the company.

I had a little over 1,000 shares of MS back in 1989. That was back when it was splitting 2-3 times a year. I wish I could have kept it. I had to sell it because of a divorce and never recouped enough to get back in it. I'm pretty sure I'd be a multimillionaire by now. Ticks me off every time I think about it. But the X had to pay half the capital gains at the time that she didn't see coming.

While "Wall Street" can have a major influence on stock prices, ultimately, it's the investor that tows the line. I suspect you'll see a major sell-off if it gets too high. WS is just baiting the hook.

Way back, when it got around 60+ MS would issue a 2-for-1 split to bring it back down into the 30s. And that happened 2-3 times a year. That went on for many years. If you bought 100 shares back in 87, it would be something like 2-3 million shares today. Break-out your calculator. :)

    Hi there

    Actually "Seeemples".

The Surface Pro 3 has got excellent reviews for it's intended market. I know loads of people will be saying too expensive etc - but the target market is I.T Pros and travelling consultants who now can use a SINGLE device rather than have to have BOTH a laptop AND an Ipad type device.

I intend to get one of these myself -- with a docking station and the 8GB I7 model this will outperform any conceivable current laptop available - and I don't need to have a tablet as well either. With a docking station this will connect to any peripherals a standard laptop will do and it's light and extremely portable.

Ms will do really well selling these to its intended market. Note for hobbyists / casual home users it's not aimed for you so you probably will find it expensive - but no more than a top end ultrabook and this device is a lot more versatile.

This looks like being a significant player for Enterprise mobile computing -- a lot of enterprises are looking at these rather than providing their workforces with laptops and tablets - so ONE capable device instead of two.

    Cheers
