All mine installed ok and no problems as yet. Flash updates come from Adobe. The last one I got for Flash was last month. I don't see any in Windows Update that mentions Flash.
Here's the detail on it:
Shockwave Flash Object
Publisher Adobe Systems Incorporated
Status Enabled
Architecture 32-bit and 64-bit
File date Monday, July 14, 2014, 6:34 AM
Version 14.0.0.145
The flash update was included in win-8,
The new flash version I got was from Adobe for ie10 and win-7 after uninstalling the version Carwiz posted,
14.0.0.176
Which I still have it installed and no other issues have happened,
Treating it like a quirk :)
Cheers.
12 updates @ 131.21 MB
Installed all at one shot, feeling lucky I guess, no problems.
I had 13 updates, all installed successfully. Btw, how can I view the size of windows updates? Is that only visible when you're installing them or? There's nothing in the update history window.
When updates are listed Before they are downloaded and installed they list the size of each update on the right end of it,
Once you decide to download and install the ups it shows the combined size,
The size is not displayed after only before that I've noticed,
Cheers.
Great, thanks. I figured that too. I always do updates automatically, but I do know about the manual update window you mentioned as I've used it sometimes. Just wanted to confirm.
13 updates installed ok in one lot on my gaming machine, I also have 12 updates plus 3 Office updates to do on my work machine which I probably won't get round to installing until tomorrow.
Update: All updates satisfactorily installed on my work machine. Reading about the problems being encountered with 3 of them I'm (a) feeling highly relieved thus far and keeping my fingers firmly crossed, and (b) resolved to delaying installing updates in future for rather longer than the usual couple of days so that it is clearer when there are such issues and they can hopefully be avoided. Susan Bradley MVP (who has posted here before if I recall correctly) seems to be suggesting holding fire on updates for a week. That sounds increasingly sensible as the monthly update routine is one a lot of people are finding exceedingly stressful!

The only issue I have with auto updating is the surprises on Wednesday mornings
I don't like surprises in the morning Tuesdays or Wednesdays... :)
I do not have an issue with reviewing updates before downloading and installing any of them,
Especially Optional updates
Which these are the ones that cause most of the mischief
Maybe I should deselect automatic updates.... You know there is that option of "download updates automatically but let me choose which ones to install" it's the third option I believe. Lol that shield hijacking the shut down button can be annoying. I imagine you don't get that when you have manual WU selected?
I always get the automatic updates during wednesdays and when I go to sleep during late wednesday eavning I always need to wait for the WU to finish.. man, what a tedious process, every patch tuesday. And I sometimes wonder, what if it malfunctions? What do I do then? This is my only computer.
Luckily I've not had any probs with auto. WUs.
