I review updates and I have not noticed one which applied to office word....
Only outlook so even if the office clipboard might be a an issue in the future there is a simple work around,
Paste to one note first
I don't often paste directly to word because of all of the unnecessary formatting that comes with it,

As far as saving images which I do often I use save picture as and not copy and paste more reliable or simply use the snipping tool for a png instead of a crappy jpeg,

Nice post Jimbo
Cheers.

I frequently copy and paste into Word and have no trouble with the formatting. When you paste into an Office 2007 or 2010 document, such as Word or Excel, you get three choices on what to paste. The first choice carries over all of the original formatting. The second is a combination of the source and destination formatting. The third option strips all formatting and pastes text only.

The keyboard shortcut CTRL-SHIFT-v will also paste without embedded formatting.

Also, as I already said, Office documents can (and do) get infected without even being directly connected to the internet; all that is needed is for the computer a document is stored on be connected to the internet, even if Office itself isn't on the computer. As I pointed out earlier, I had two Word docs that were created by me in Word 2007 by manually typing them get infected. Having a version that is still receiving security updates from M$ and copying only from safe sites will dramatically reduce that possibility but will not completely eliminate it.

I use 2010 at home, but 2003 at work.

2003 is the best!

This is different. A kid prefers the old version while the flatulent geriatric prefers the newer one.

I didn't hate 2003 however, I liked 2007 better. I also liked 2010 better than 2007 but, if it hadn't been for the later EOL that will carry it past Win 7's EOL and was a much better version than its successor, 2013, I wouldn't have been able to justify the expense of upgrading

It's no always a matter of if it's broken or not. In my case, I upgraded to 2010, even though 2007 wasn't "broken", to make sure I would have a version of Office that I liked through the EOL of Win 7 and not get stuck with a dud like 2013 or worse.
