Graphics card powerhouse Nvidia has a new family of GPUs — the GTX 980 and GTX 970 — based on a brand new chipset, designed to deliver more visual power and higher frame rates than previous generations, while consuming less power. If you believe Nvidia, they’re “the new benchmark in performance and efficiency for gaming on the PC."

Where did you get that information?

I have spent hours reading reviews and looking at benchmarks since release and they all come to the same conclusion that they outperform the previous generation nicely.

Even the reference cards perform amazingly. The 970 easily beats the 780 in everything I have seen and beats the 780ti in many.

And for a lower price than I paid for my 780. Time to upgrade I think.

Everything I have read says the same thing. Don't upgrade until the EVGA 980 Classified comes out. It's worth it.
