That is the old formula of 2+2=$
They can't afford to let people move to other operating systems though.

Some people actually like OS X and they claim it is easier to use than Windows.
Presumably some Windows users who try OS X will agree with that statement.

I've been using it for ~12 weeks (only ~60 hours total though) and I totally disagree.

It's not that I hate Bing it's more it has no business defaulting to the start buttons search
If it were this way,
Type bing-and your inquiry it would make more particle sense

It's only to be expected, Google is the default search on all android devices, so it's not just Microsoft pushing their own search

Hi there

I know W7 is much loved but W10 really IS better - even in the current preview state - honestly with things like far better built in security, native mounting and playing of ISO's, optimised kernel, a new "Linux type" package manager for handling software updates / installs, much more multi-media and NAS friendly including DLNA and MTP, and a load of stuff under the hood it's probably worth while upgrading especially if you have some touch devices too.

There's NOTHING wrong per se with W7 -- IMO if you can get an upgrade cheaply when it comes out W10 will be worth it.

You can try out the latest build as a VM without losing any of your W7 stuff. A really new build(9865) is due imminently --this is the THIRD version (Second update) since the original build came out.

You can use W10 just like W7 if you are primarily a desktop user.

I agree W8 wasn't worth using - and W8.1 was better but still not totally desktop friendly. W10 IS much better and there's also no reason why you should avoid some of the newer "metro apps" if and when you like them - and they can be windowed too -- not always in that silly full screen idea.

I don't know where all this Bing stuff comes from - it's easy enough to KILL it. !!

Google IMO is far worse --Chrome while a good browser collects statistics on your Internet pages and guess what -- you get targeted by offers / spam that Google THINKS you want to buy !! so it's not only Bing. !!!

Cheers
jimbo

As far as I've seen Microsoft is tying Bing to the start menu search Google isn't doing that,
I wouldn't use Chrome if you paid me,
I don't hate anything but Bing defaulting to the start menu,
If it's easily killed please share how Jimbo otherwise it's just a vague statement on your part
Inquiring minds want to know,
I thought I killed it on the fresh install of 9860 it worked without bing as default, I was happy
Then I had to do a refresh install to sort out windows defender not coming back on after uninstalling Panda antivirus free,
Bing was default I was mad but defender was back on so I was glad but still could not find the settings to revert Bing to vacation mode
