The whole world has a choice which browser to use.
If one can find Facebook and YouTube they should be able to find Firefox or Chrome without the E.U. help.
True, but for the average user I think it is a good thing.
I agree, would you think it's strange that the EU doesn't have this requirement for a Mac that has Safari as the default browser.

Granted they learn from the best. US does it all the time. They also love to sue everyone they can for stupid reasons. If you cannot tell, I hate apple. They treat their users as stupid, (granted sometimes there right) they try to make tech simple just so people think they do not have to learn anything. And when something goes wrong, they tell them buy a new one. And people do it. Drives me crazy. It's like a crazy cult.

    eh.....I'll stop now.

If one commercial company has to do it, all commercial companies should have to do it.

That was my only issue with that ruling.

I agree, but they probably look at it like who has a Mac percentage wise in the EU, 3 men and a dog springs to mind.

    I suspect that is true.

My position is that if it is illegal for one company to do it, it should be illegal for any company, regardless of its market share.

These stupid ultra-specific rulings are what led to Intel using the same sort of dodgy tactics that MS had used a decade earlier.
Intel should have been "hit" much harder than MS was (because of the earlier ruling against MS' tactics).

Once a ruling has been decided (and appeals thrown out) any subsequent offences committed by anyone else should attract significantly harsher penalties.

Boy, did you nail it. I don't know many Apple users, but the one's I do seem to think their ownership of an Apple device of any kind makes them a member of a superior species. It is very strange and, yes, cult-like
