I surly don't use auto update for Windows or any other thing. I do all my updates manually.

I usually also double click every update and click on the "More information" link, to see what the update is all about
I check each one too and do them in small bunches like 2 at a time

I updated a 8.1.1 system with 17 updates, no problems installing them.
I'm doing a Win 7 OS right now with 20 updates.
I do them all at once.

Just to be clear KB3008627 is Optional
Otherwise all others are loaded and doing fine

On the above Optional KB... the More information link goes no where and so does the update until it explains what the update is supposed to address

    Latest updates

Downloading 13 updates now. I don't have MS Office installed. I see an schannel.dll gets downloaded. I wonder if that's anything to do with the latest round of SSL vulnerabilities.

    I'm back.
Installed all updates (13) plus MSE.

    My method.
    1. Update MSE first
    2. I.E. updates, reboot.
    3. Next 4 from the top, reboot
    4. Next 6 from the top, reboot
    5. The last 2, reboot
    6. Check for updates, none found.

Please note; when I reboot and get to the desktop I wait until the drive light quiets going crazy before I do anything on the computer. Some times the light will be blinking very fast for about 20 seconds. I just wait until it's done because I don't know what is going on.
