Anything past windows 7. You can't disable DWM Which introduces massive input delay in over-desktop openGL programs. and for high-speed time-critical intense games this is not wanted. So i'm sticking with windows 7 for now because i like being able to enable and disable DWM on the fly when switching between an openGL game like minecraft and a directX game like crysis or GTA
There is no way to do this on windows 8 or above without going to the extremes of suspending .exe's with process tools and replacing .exe's or some crazy unsafe method.

I wanna know why they are skipping Win9 & going to Win10 from 8.1
Maybe cause it reminds them of Win98? hehe.

No, real reason why. One site speculated it had something to do with programs and/or drivers that may see windows 9 as windows 98se and not install.

Actually, that is pretty much the most accepted answer, one that M$ finally admitted to after their initial snow job.

Maybe cause the pronunciation of English "nine" is very similar to German "nein".

Because the Chinese would have kept it forever?

The number 9 is a positive number in Chinese Numerology, as it sounds like the pronunciation of the word "longlasting" and represents longevity. The number 9 was also traditionally associated with China's emperor. 9 is the only number associated with the Fire element, which stands for ideas of motivation and truth.
