Yep 10 will be lucky to match x-p numbers
I just got reminded I only have a 8 pro upgrade key so 10 is effectively not an option :)
I'm relieved to tell the truth,
Although 8 full version is I believe 101.us at Amazon I have a new build in mind and that's all that matters at this point to me = the probably 2k in funds to complete it lol
Already have a 7 64 bit oem waiting for it.

Well you could upgrade to 8 to 8.1 then to 10. :)

lol at the sacrifice of a much better more reliable and hardware compatible 7 = not going to happen

    New build :/
By the time I hope to finish it might time out right but drastic changes to 10 will have to be seen built in I'm not relying on third parties to pick up the slack.

I've been reading benchmarks for WX are worse than W8.1. It's kind of funny MSFT trying to get W7 users 2 upgrade. W7 is already a slug compared to XP. I wager WX will be even more so...

You have to be kidding. I've had several XP machines and now have several Win 7 machines. The Win 7 machines beat the holy hairy heck out of the XP machines. The only way Win 7 would be a slug compared to XP is if it was installed on an old XP machine without enough CPU power and/or it has inadequate RAM.

It is true though that WX boot time is quite as long as W8.1 - in exactly the same environment. At least that's what Event 100 says.

Win-10 take away the lock screen and it's even slower :)

What benchmarks? Do you have a link?

What time I spent on the W10-TP, the little it did it did it fast. :) And I ran it under VBox and VMware.

Check Event 100 in Event Viewer and compare to 8.1 or 7.

That's the boot event. I thought we were talking about the general speed of the W10 OS. Some people don't reboot/turn-off their machines so boot time is of little concern. That's hardly a valid point with a preview version anyway. My 8.0TP expired so it won't even start. I don't have a copy of 8.1 so perhaps someone can post the Event 100s from the different versions on the same machine? We could see where the delays are happening. I know my W7 boot time more than doubled when I added the TV card so it's important to compare times on the same machine/hardware.
