If you followed any of the MS discussions on the W7 KB you'll find that it is all speculation and MS-speak and no one has provided detail on what is actually occurring in the Tracking Service. Until provided with proof, the logical assumption is that the service is collecting like data.

Text entry collection is "key-logging" no matter how you try to defend it. If I'm interested in todays news and type ISIS, I surely don't want my PC to be linked to some radical group. We become guilty by association.
    Carwiz,

I am not saying I do or don't believe that website I quoted in my previous post. When searching the web for Diagnostics Tracking Service, I found that website talking about the so-called key logger in windows 10 with the exact name of the update. So, I assumed like me, a lot people will assume the same thing. If anyone understand xml, you can actually download the update from windows catalog and look at the xml files. You will need the open source program like 7zip to extract the cab files.

The hidden updates are piling up
I wouldn't expect Personal preference to be understood by everybody it is a personal preference to understand or not,
    Oh that is ironic :)

This KB3022345 was offer to me on two Windows 7 systems. Why?
Why all of a sudden do my Windows 7 systems need tracking by Microsoft and for what purpose.

I guarantee you 100% they want to collect info to see if everyone's PC is ready for Windows 10. At least they made this one Optional, and not Important. It's not some vast conspiracy, it's a company trying to make money. I don't want it personally, but I had the choice not to accept it. A Guy

Will they issue another update to remove the tracking info once your system is upgraded to a released version of windows 10?

I read on a website that if you give MS voluntarily your banking and credit card online credentials, your mother's maiden name, your phone numbers (mobile and fixed), complete address, date and place of birth, employers names from past 15 years, and the names and birth dates of your spouse and kids, you can then ask Microsoft to stop tracking you anymore.

You can order the application form and get more information at PleaseMS-StopTracking.com.

Notice that MS reserves the right to continue watching and listening you using the webcam and microphone on your computer 3 months after the tracking software is removed from your Windows, to ensure that the personal information you have provided is valid and true.

As Carwiz said "We become guilty by association" everyone is a potential suspect now and we are slipping slowly in the paranoid world of their Games...I wouldn't be in the Microsoft socks at the moment. Its a way to freak away the people what's our governments are doing by allowing secret services to have an access to all the datas exchanged over the Net and the Mobile network.

That said, MS will have to wait and be patient to have my end-users agreement for Windows 10 (retail, of course).

    Kari,

You should know Microsoft may not know who is using windows 10 preview but they do track you and possibly track your key stroke that is in the windows 10 preview agreement. From my understanding on this, they want to see what applications crash, what applications people use the most, they want to see websites you visit, How well cortana work or doesn't work or is disabled by the user. They want to track your purchase as well, to what you buy. From my understanding they won't track secure store websites. Another words they won't be able to see your credit/debit card number unless your purchasing something directly from Microsoft.

Uh, methinks Kari was using subtle, exaggerated sarcasm as a humor mechanism (in other words, he gotcha?).
