After the Windows 7 updates this morning I noticed that these 2 updates have been reinstalled. KB 3004375 & KB 3031432 again.
This is in fact the 9th time these have been installed since the 15th March 2015.

I have run Win Disc Clean up as Administrator perhaps twice in that time yet these keep on being reinstalled. However they are not shown in the Installed Updates at all, even going back to 2014.

Has anyone else noticed this odd behaviour with these 2 updates?.

Those are indeed 2 of the updates that are messed up by the Disk Cleanup issue. On my system, they did indeed have to be "reinstalled" a few times before they would "take" and stop showing up as uninstalled.

FYI: Extended Disc Cleanup has started killing recent Windows Updates

These 2 updates keep showing up.

Some strange updates going on when I uninstall some

Thanks for the info tblob, I am aware of problems with Disc Clean Up & have had a few updates reinstall after running it, but these 2 are becoming ridiculous & are continually being reinstalled, but are not showing as having been installed in Installed Updates.

If they were showing up in Installed Updates & were removed when running Disc Clean Up & then reinstalled I would say all is well. But these 2 are behaving very oddly.

Error code 8024402c just manually checking for update this evening
Had to first restore advanced settings in internet options/ restart same error

Then I restored are favorite KB3035583 recommended update/ shut down and restarted
Manually checked for updates and low and behold KB2990214 returns as Important which was not listed to restore :/
Then all of the other updates line up without error
    Re-Hide KB2990214..
    Loaded the rest,
    Attachment 356296

Left M$ some good feedback on both of the hidden again updates

I had same problems, I got it sorted by downloading them from Microsoft as stand alone installers, been good ever since.

Got 10 of these and all went smooth, nothing particular about updates preparing actual to the next OS. :)

Thanks for that info. I downloaded both KB 3004375 & KB 3031432 & attempted to install them, & was informed they are already installed, but they are not listed in Installed Updates.

So I ran Disc Clean Up as Administrator, then restarted computer & checked for updates & sure enough they were there again to be installed, so I hid both of them.

There was also another Update KB 3021952 which is for IE 11, but this update was shown in Installed Updates as being installed in Feb so I hid it as well.

Hopefully this will fix the problem, but I will keep an eye on it when next months updates come through.

Well just a quick note to say that for each of the Windows Updates issues during the last 3 or 4 months any time an update has been pulled I've rolled back my system and reinstalled updates minus the problem ones that were then no longer offered. Seems to have worked. I've been avoiding adavanced disk cleanup for the time being but ususally run it a week or so after installing updates.

Yes, it does seem that Disc Clean Up using the run as Administrator mode is causing all these Update reruns.
