I believe the Live bit was dropped it's just windows mail now ?
    I don't use it I use office outlook 2007.

Although a lot of people may have "live.com" email addresses ?
Haha, good point. It's had so many name changes I'm not even sure myself I think the 2012 is called just Windows Essentials but not sure about the mail app.

Just goes to show how little attention I pay to Splash screens!!

I'm not too sure Groze as I haven't indulged in the TP. My beta testing days are long behind me haha. I prefer finished products these days.
I can't see any good reason why it wouldn't work though. It works on 8 so I'm guessing it would be fine on ten.

I only use mail from the package.

Best place to ask that is where someone might be using them :)

The built in Mail app supports all MS email addresses, you can add accounts from either @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @msn.com or @live.com. This also includes international domains such as @outlook.co.uk or any custom domain that is hosted on Outlook.com. Plus a plethora of other options.

Personally I think a lot of the "discussion" is because MS has not clearly stated what the new "Win 10 rules" are ...
I plan to upgrade 1 or 2 W7 OS's to Win 10, but I'll wait and see how things play out.
I found the statement below on a MS site, and it made me laugh
Scroll to the bottom of the Source link for this.

    *Windows Offer Details

Yes, free! This upgrade offer is for a full version of Windows 10, not a trial. 3GB download required; standard data rates apply. To take advantage of this free offer, you must upgrade to Windows 10 within one year of availability. Once you upgrade, you have Windows 10 for free on that device.

Our lawyers made us say this:

Windows 10 Upgrade Offer is valid for qualified Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 devices, including devices you already own. Some hardware/software requirements apply and feature availability may vary by device and market. The availability of Windows 10 upgrade for Windows Phone 8.1 devices may vary by OEM, mobile operator or carrier. Devices must be connected to the internet and have Windows Update enabled. Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 Update required. Some editions are excluded: Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise, and Windows RT/RT 8.1. Active Software Assurance customers in volume licensing have the benefit to upgrade to Windows 10 enterprise offerings outside of this offer. To check for compatibility and other important installation information, visit your device manufacturer’s website and the Windows 10 Specifications page. Additional requirements may apply over time for updates. Security and features are kept automatically up-to-date which is always enabled.

Is this an official statement from MS ? i don't know
It looks like a valid MS site to me...
I'll wait until way after the official release to see how things really play out before i update.

I'm not trying to be negative or spread negative thoughts and ideas.
I guess i just read and lurk too much to try and learn/understand, and it's beyond my 2 old brain cells ability

As I said in my post I use Windows Live Mail on all my systems, I believe it is the 2012 version. That is what I installed on my Windows 10 preview that is running in a VM.
I haven't really checked the Mail program so don't know if it will accommodate all my RSS Feeds as well as all my email addresses.

Windows live essentials latest version is 2012, and everything does work quite well on the latest build of windows 10 that is accessible to the public.

For security reasons however, if you can deal with the stupid "apps" they (built in mail app) would offer better protection and stronger encryption. They also receive constant updates, where live essentials was last updated 2 years ago.
