For anyone not particularly interested in being part of MS' sheep flock, many good tools under development, example O&O ShutUp10: download free antispy tool for Windows 10. This, + someone coming up with a tool to give back control over updates, then the otherwise excellent w10 will be ...excellent.

That one could be a bit tough since MSpy has said they will not issue anymore more updates to a machine that has delayed or blocked them.

As far as I can tell I have always been tracked to one degree or the other and I think that will always be that way.
It's no longer a choice if you want to be on the internet and use it to some degree of usefulness.

What some blogger post on the net doesn't really interest me because they are being tracked also and can't do anything about it.

Microsoft states their policy no matter what the bloggers say/post.

    default.aspx

Whether one likes with Microsoft's policy or not that is what we agree with when we choose to use their products.
I see no where in Microsoft's policy where they ask if we like the policy. They don't care if we like it or not.
Microsoft owns the ball, bat, glove and stadium. If we give them money they will let us play according to their rules and their rules only.

I still have some concerns that I voiced over at 10 forum.

Here is what I said over at 10 forum.

Some of those commenter's brought up some good points. They will need to rewrite the EULA before some will believe them and one commenter is a developer.

My concern is the E.U.L.A. says they collect passwords and record sites you visit. They never said anything about that. Why would they need to record a site you visit using Firefox? Storing or uploading password that related to Microsoft Account or app purchase that ok with me.

Another thing that bugs me it says they may turn over data to legal authority? If they don't collect data, how would they know what data to turn over? Just for the record I am not doing anything illegal.

There may be more recent statistics, but as of August 26 MS says W10 has been installed on 75 million devices.

Here's How Many People Have Installed Windows 10 Already - Fortune

Presumably, even more people have downloaded/installed Windows 10 as of today, Sept 28. Unless MS has some very specific algorithms in place, I just don't see where MS would be all that interested in me and spend untold man-hours tracking my computer usage.

Not quite Layback Bear. They still have to follow local laws. That why the E.U.L.A says something like this-some jurisdiction portions of this E.U.L.A. may not apply do to local laws.

Why don't you post links or quote actual segments you refer to groze?

You might have valid points but posting like you do just starts more misinformation and confusion.

As much as you post about the EULA I would think you should have a well read copy to refer your comments about.

You instead choose to use your own words which only confuse the reader,

Anything they collect is technically data. Where does it say they don't?

Groze, you mean to tell me that Microsoft may actually have to comply with a Federal Court order? How unethical of them, even though they are fighting not to comply with one right now.

You obviously are not aware that every major search engine knows what sites you search for and what sights you go to from those searches? Darn, even Amazon and your ISP tracks you. Get real. Your browser has never asked you if you want it to remember passwords or auto complete web forms?

Would you at least agree that it is difficult, if not impossible, to write an EULA that complies with the laws of every Country and municipality in the world? So, much of what you read does not even apply to you.

Most of us were expecting you to not accept this statement, which you have asked for in the past. Next we are going to hear you tell us that the NSA and CIA developed Windows 7.

Jack ws right. If you want your privacy protected, pull the plug on your computer and never turn it on again, take a sledge hammer to your cell phone, and never leave you house again. Don't forget those surveillance cameras and traffic cameras.

As Derek said, provide some proof of your baseless accusations. Not what some paranoid blogger said. Show us the lines of code that proves what you are ranting about.

I am actually lost on this derekimo. I am really confused. I will try to explain it the best I can. It is my way of thinking. I mean no offense by this. I think differently then others. I have out of the box thinking, which actually makes me good with computer configurations.

One of the articles said Microsoft doesn't collect data that wouldn't I.D. you. However, the E.U.L.A. does says they will turn over data to authorities if needed. So if they turn over data to the authorities, how are the authorities going to know whom to go after if the data given doesn't include personal information?

On the Password issue, I read the windows 10 Microsoft E.U.L.A. that how I found about the passwords. Unless that has changed. I thought this was also confirmed by other posters.

Note, these are not exact word for word quotes.

On my posting, I probably try to abbreviate to much or make my posting to short so people would understand me. It takes me awhile to post my thoughts online.

Still no links or excerpts from EULA?

You just want to keep twisting words and repeating hearsay with nothing to base it on.
